Notice of Special Meeting and Attorney-Client Executive Session
The County Commissioners of Jackson County, Florida, will conduct a Special Meeting and an Attorney-Client Executive Session at 4:30 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in the Commission Chambers located at the Jackson County Board of County Commissioners, 2864 Madison Street, Marianna, Florida, to discuss ongoing litigation.
After the Special Meeting is convened, the Board will go into closed session pursuant to Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes. The subject matter of the executive session is: CHARLENE HEWETT BAKER f/k/a CHARLENE HEWETT GOLDEN, CHARLES HENRY GOLDEN a/k/a CHARLES GOLDEN, ALLISON MARIE GOLDEN a/k/a ALLISON GOLDEN a/k/a ALLISON GOLDEN, and ALISA LORAIN GOLDEN a/k/a ALISA GOLDEN vs JACKSON COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Florida (Circuit Court for the 14th Judicial Circuit of Florida – Jackson County; Case No. 2020-CA-217)
The discussions in this session shall be confined to litigation strategy and settlement negotiations relating to the above cases. The session will be recorded by a certified court reporter. The meeting will last approximately thirty (30) minutes and will be attended by Chairman–Commissioner Paul Donofro, Vice Chairman-Commissioner Alex B. McKinnie, Commissioner Edward Crutchfield, Commissioner Donnie Branch, Commissioner Jim Peacock, County Administrator Wilanne Daniels, County Attorney Michelle Jordan, Special Counsel Eric A. Krebs, and a certified court reporter.
Following the closed session, the Board will reconvene in open session at the Jackson County Board of County Commissioners, 2864 Madison Street, Marianna, Florida so that the Chair may announce the termination of the executive session and address any other matters that may come before the Board at that time.
If a person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at the meeting, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings are available, which records includes the testimony and evidence upon which appeal is to be based.
