2023 Jackson County BOCC Annual Report
The Board of County Commissioners is a five-member group, elected at large to represent the citizens of Jackson County. The Board serves as the governing body of Jackson County. The Commissioners are elected to establish policies through the adoption of resolutions and ordinances.
The Board has the authority to levy taxes and adopt an annual budget. The Board defines the role and guides the actions of the organization, supports initiatives that will benefit Jackson County in the future and ensures the delivery of quality services to every citizen of the County.
The Commissioners are elected to represent the geographical district in which they reside. Elections for commission seats are staggered four-year terms, with Districts 1, 3, and 5 elections following two years after District 2 and 4 elections and so on.
Meeting information
Regular meetings of the Jackson County Board of County Commissioners are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. The second Tuesday meeting begins at 9 AM and the fourth Tuesday meeting begins at 6 PM. Meetings take place in the commission chamber at 2864 Madison Street, Marianna, FL 32448.
