Towing Rates
Wrecker Service Rates
Pursuant to Florida Statutes 125.0103 and 166.043, the Jackson County Board of County Commissioners is authorized to establish maximum rates for towing, immobilization, removal, and storage of vehicles or vessels in certain situations. These include removals from private property or accident scenes, and instances where the owner or operator is incapacitated, unavailable, or where wrecker services are procured by law enforcement.
Historically, Jackson County has reviewed and adjusted these rates approximately every nine years to reflect increased operational costs to service providers. Previous rate adjustments were adopted in 2003 and 2012.
Following coordination with local wrecker service providers and discussions with the Florida Highway Patrol, County staff negotiated updated rates to reflect current costs and promote consistency across service areas. The Board of County Commissioners approved the revised maximum towing rates by resolution, with an effective date of May 11, 2021.
The document below include the adopted Wrecker Service Maximum Rate Table and the Board Resolution approving these rates.
