HURRICANE HOUSING RECOVERY PROGRAM (HHRP)
JACKSON COUNTY, FLORIDA
Jackson County announces an amendment to the Hurricane Housing Recovery Program. The County received the initial allocation of $7,215,000 from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation for State fiscal years July 1,2019 through June 30, 2022. The grant application deadline is extended through June 30, 2024. The remaining balance of funds is available for Rental Development in the amount of $1,443,000.
Future notices will be announced should funding be available for the additional program strategies of Demolition and Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, First Time Home Buyer Assistance, Rental Development and Single-Family Construction. Applications for remaining funds are currently outstanding with a Wait List. Persons will be assisted on a first qualified, first served basis in Wait List order as funding is available.
- Household income cannot exceed the moderate up to (140%) average median income category of Jackson County (See chart below for 2021 Income Limits, subject to change in 2022.)
2. Limited to deed holders of primary residences for non-rental development/assistance.
3. Deferred payment load requires lien on the property described in the deed.
4. Program expenditure set-asides are annually met for very low to moderate income levels: persons with special needs, homeownership, construction, and manufactured homes.

Jackson County announces the availability of funds under the Hurricane Housing Recovery Program, originally noted for Demolition and Reconstruction. On October 16, 2020, the County received additional funding in the amount of $2,220,000.00, from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. The application deadline is June 30, 2023. The original strategy of Demolition and Reconstruction has been amended. It is hereby announced that the full amount of $2,220,000.00 has been reserved for new strategies of Rental Development and Single-Family Construction. Request For Qualifications (RFQ) will be published for the Rental Development and Single-Family Construction projects by Jackson County beginning on March 10, 2022. Application dates, times, and deadlines will be announced in the RFQ advertisements.
