Jackson County Fire Rescue Named 2025 Rural EMS Provider of the Year
Jackson County, FL – Jackson County Board of County Commissioners is proud to announce that Jackson County Fire Rescue has been named the 2025 Rural EMS Provider of the Year, an honor awarded by the Florida Department of Health during the Excellence in Emergency Medical Services Awards Ceremony.
Chief Charlie Brunner, along with Medical Directors Dr. Colby Redfield and Dr. Lynn Nguyen, Battalion Chief Josh Williams, and Division Chief Johnny Padgett, proudly accepted the award on behalf of the entire organization.
This prestigious recognition reflects the exceptional dedication, innovation, and compassion demonstrated by Jackson County Fire Rescue crews as they serve residents across a largely rural community, often in challenging environments where access to care can be limited and every decision truly matters.
“This award belongs to every member of our Fire Rescue team,” said Chief Brunner. “It represents the professionalism, integrity, and heart our crews bring to every call, every time. We are incredibly proud of the men and women who serve Jackson County with such excellence and commitment.”
For more than 30 years, the Florida Department of Health has recognized outstanding emergency medical service providers across the state, honoring the brave professionals and agencies who protect public health and safety during times of crisis. Jackson County Fire Rescue’s selection as Rural EMS Provider of the Year highlights the agency’s unwavering commitment to high-quality patient care and community service.
Jackson County also extends its sincere appreciation to the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association and the Florida Department of Health for this distinguished honor, as well as to the citizens of Jackson County for their continued trust and support.
