Tropical Storm Update
Jackson County Emergency Management and the BOCC are currently monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Ian and are in contact with our local, regional and State Partners. Currently, there is still a high degree of uncertainty in the forecast for this storm. Further decisions about local emergency measures, including school closures and opening local shelters, will be made within the next few days with our school board and local department of health partners based on better forecast data. In the interim, we strongly encourage the public to review the disaster preparedness documents from FDEM.
