PUBLIC NOTICE: Proposed Moratorium Ordinance Regarding Large-Scale Data Centers

Jackson County Board of County Commissioners will consider the adoption of a proposed ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium on the acceptance, processing, review, and issuance of certain development approvals related to large-scale data centers and large load customer facilities within the unincorporated area of Jackson County.
The proposed ordinance would establish a temporary one-year moratorium to allow the County time to review and consider potential Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code amendments related to the siting, infrastructure, environmental, public safety, and compatibility impacts associated with large-scale data centers and similar high-load facilities.
The proposed ordinance is scheduled to be considered at the following public hearing:

The proposed ordinance and the required Business Impact Estimate are available below for public review:
Interested persons may appear at the public hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.
In accordance with Section 125.66, Florida Statutes, the Business Impact Estimate has been prepared and posted prior to ordinance consideration.
