Notice of Special Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN BY THE JACKSON COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION OF ITS INTENT TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO REVIEW THE FOLLOWING AND OTHER BUSINESS:
PowerSouth Telecommunications Tower (2020003) – A request for a new type-1 Telecommunications Tower for PowerSouth Energy Cooperative. This tower will be located at 4970 Ford Road at the existing PowerSouth substation. This request also includes a variance to Section 74-449(c)(6)(e) of the Jackson County Code of Ordinances to not allow colocation on the proposed tower.
Apalachee Solar Energy Center (GDO-2020419) – A request for a General Development Order for a new solar energy center. The development is to be located on the north side of Reddoch Road approximately .23 miles north of the intersection of Reddoch Road and Hollister Road in unincorporated Jackson County.
The Shepherd’s Rest (GDO-2020450) – A request for a General Development Order for a new campground consisting of seven cabin units, two RV hookup sites, a meeting pavilion and mechanical shed, and vehicular use area. Total development will be 21,626 square feet of impervious surface. The project will be located approximately 1,384 feet west of Hwy 71 South and 6.3 miles south of the I-10 corridor in unincorporated Jackson County.
The Public hearing will be held on February 1, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board of County Commission Meeting Room of the Jackson County Administration Building at 2864 Madison Street, Marianna, Florida. The documents may be inspected at the Jackson County Community Development Department at 4979 Healthy Way, Suite B, Marianna, FL, 32446. Persons wishing to comment may do so via teleconference during the public hearing or in writing to the Jackson County Community Development Department.
