Notice of Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN BY THE JACKSON COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION OF ITS INTENT TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO REVIEW THE FOLLOWING AND OTHER BUSINESS:
Bradley Variance Request – A request from James Bradley for approval of a variance from the Jackson County Code of Ordinances Section 38-105.2(3)(b) to allow the lowest floor of his site built home at 8286 Canopy Lane in unincorporated Jackson County be less than the required 2-foot freeboard.
Request for Road Abandonment (2021291) – A request to abandon a county right-of-way located on property currently owned by Jackson County Board of County Commissioners, on a portion of Panhandle Road lying north of Pelt Street and south of Merritts Mill Road in Section 2, Township 4N, Range 10W, in unincorporated Jackson County.
Road Abandonment (2021211) – A request to abandon a county right-of-way located on property currently owned by David & Jennifer Cumbie identified as a strip of land known as Maple Street approximately 278 feet in length, east of Lori Lane in unincorporated Jackson County.
Endeavor Large Scale Amendment (2021226) – A proposed adoption of an amendment to the Jackson County Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map for 320 +/- acres located south of Pooser Rd. The request is to change the acreage from Mixed Use Urban Transitional, Agriculture 2, and Public to Residential, Mixed Use Urban Transitional and Agriculture 2 Future Land Use category.
Comprehensive Plan Text Amendment – A proposed adoption of a text change to Jackson County Comprehensive Plan, Chapter 2, Policy 2.4. The proposed text amendment would allow landscaping for commercial developments to be highly recommended instead of required.
The public hearing will be held October 4, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board of County Commission Meeting Room of the Jackson County Administration Building at 2864 Madison Street, Marianna, Florida. The documents may be inspected at the Jackson County Community Development Department at 4979-B Healthy Way, Marianna, FL, 32446. Persons wishing to comment may do so in person at the public hearing or in writing to the Jackson County Community Development Department.
