Application Guidelines
Applications are due Friday, December 17th, 2021. They must be received by 3:00 p.m. CST.
Applications must be complete to be considered. A complete application includes the online application (NextStep to Employment Application), documentation of an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis, documentation of completion of high school, and payment of the $50 application fee. If you are requesting tuition assistance, include the Scholarship Application with your other documents.
Checks should be made payable to Jackson County Board of County Commissioners. Please also include the applicant’s name and “NextStep application fee” on the memo line of the check. Application fees are nonrefundable.
Documentation and payment can be mailed or hand-delivered to the address above. Please send to the attention of Tammy Dasher. If delivering by hand, please use a sealed envelope.
Applicant interviews will be held in person the week of January 3-7, 2022. Applicants will be interviewed independent of their parent/caregiver initially, with parents/caregivers invited to join for the second half of the interview. Interviews will be held at various times to accommodate different schedules.
Students will be notified of their acceptance into the program the week of January 10, 2022. Scholarships will also be awarded at this time.
The NextStep to Employment program will begin January 24, 2022. The 12-week program will end on April 15, 2022.
