Notice: Public Safety Exercise July 23, 2026
Public Safety Exercise Scheduled at Marianna K8 School – July 23, 2026
Jackson County Emergency Management will conduct a public safety training exercise on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Marianna K-8 School. The exercise is being coordinated in partnership with the Jackson County School Board, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire Rescue, Jackson County Department of Health, and numerous local volunteer and public safety agencies.
The exercise will begin at approximately 8:00 a.m. and is expected to conclude around 2:00 p.m.
During this time, residents may notice an increased presence of law enforcement officers, fire rescue personnel, ambulances, emergency vehicles, and support staff in and around the school campus.
This is only a training exercise. There is no emergency or threat to the public.
To help ensure the exercise can be conducted safely and efficiently, the public is asked to avoid the immediate area surrounding Marianna K-8 School during the exercise.
Training exercises like this provide an opportunity for schools, first responders, healthcare partners, and emergency management agencies to strengthen coordination, evaluate response plans, and improve preparedness for real-world emergencies.
Jackson County Emergency Management appreciates the cooperation and understanding of residents as local agencies work together to enhance the safety and preparedness of our community.
