Notice of Special Meeting and Attorney-Client Executive Session

The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners will conduct a Special Meeting and an Attorney-Client Executive Session at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in the board chambers located at 2864 Madison Street, Marianna, Florida, to discuss ongoing litigation.

After the Special Meeting is convened the Board will go into closed session pursuant to Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes. The subject matter of the executive session is Roberta K. White, and Gary R. White, wife and husband v. Jackson County, Jackson County Circuit Court Case No. 18-CA-104

The discussions in this session shall be confined to litigation strategy and settlement negotiations relating to the above case. The session will be recorded by a certified court reporter. The meeting will last approximately 1 hour and will be attended by Chairman Jim Peacock, Commissioner Alex McKinnie, Commissioner Clint Pate, Commissioner Eric Hill, Commissioner Paul Donofro, County Administrator Wilanne Daniels, County Attorney Michelle Jordan, Special Counsel to the Board Bill Warner, and a certified court reporter.

Following the closed session, the Board will reconvene in open session in the Board Chambers so that the Chair may announce the termination of the executive session and address any other matters that may come before the Board at that time.  

If a person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at the meeting, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is available, which records includes the testimony and evidence upon which appeal is to be based.
